Welcome to ChemTB Database
ChemTB database provides a platform for integrating
information related to tuberculosis (TB) disease and its infectious agent "Mycobacterium tuberculosis" (Mtb)
generated or curated through various in-house databases developed by different research groups at Jawaharlal Nehru University. ChemTB is a part of
Department of Biotechnology initiative "Establishment of National Database on tuberculosis-Phase II" to integrate TB related resources nationwide.
ChemTB mainly provides information on TB targets, genomic variants(SNPs) identified for Mtb organism, anti-tuberculosis compounds and their biological activities.
The purpose of integration is to reduce or eliminate duplication of data, improve integrity and make provisions for future research in the field.

Here search for targets known for Mycobacterium tuberculosis on the basis of the gene or the strain of the mycobacterium or the chemical compounds known to have bioassay activities against these targets.
- Antituberculosis Compounds
Information on anti-tuberculosis compounds and their bioassay activities can be searched here on the basis of SMILES, structure and activity range
- Genetic polymorphism in Mtb
Information on genetic polymorphism (SNP) Mtb strains on the basis of nucleotide substitution, amino acid substitution, position in the genome, geographical location and associated drugs can be searched here
